About
The Linton Children’s Book Festival runs every two years and the fourth festival took place between 5th and 13th May 2012.
The award winning Festival was first established in 2006 by a small group of villagers who believe passionately in promoting literacy and the enjoyment of books.
The first Festival ran over a week in May and it was so popular that it was run again in 2008 and 2010 each time on a larger scale and with greater success.
Please look at the photos on our Flickr page to see what happened in 2010 and 2012.
Our Festival is a true community event. We involve every school, playgroup and tots group in the village and local community groups like the Gardening Club, Photography Club and History Society, Linton Zoo, the Guides and Scouts. This year we are holding a collaborate event with the AZTECs, junior footballer club.
We attract people from Linton and surrounding rural villages, and in 2012 we estimate we reached more than 2,00 people in total.
In 2012 our theme was “The Book Lab” with a focus on non-fiction & with a strong science strand. Please see the events page for further details.
The Linton Children’s Book Festival is a registered charity no. 1131016.
It was awarded the South Cambridgeshire District Council Arts Award for “Outstanding Festival” in 2010.
