About
The Linton Children’s Book Festival will take place between 1st and 9th May 2010. It will feature writers, illustrators, and performers from the world of children’s literature, plus creative activities such as craft and writing workshops.
The Festival’s main events take place on the weekend of the 8th and 9th May at Linton Infants School and Linton Village College respectively. However it starts a week before with a History Walk in the village on Saturday 1st May. We also have a full programme of in-school and after-school events from Tuesday to Friday during the week.
A full programme will be published at the end of March 2010 and booking forms will be available on this website from the beginning of the Easter holidays (1 April). It is our intention to keep the events free although voluntary donations would be welcome to ensure the Festival can continue in its present form.
In 2010, we are delighted to have received financial support from Linton Parish Council, the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation and Young Lives (Cambridgeshire County Council Youth Services). We have also received support from a number of local businesses and individuals.

Axel Scheffler visited the Festival in 2008
The Festival was established in 2006 by a small group of villagers who believe passionately in promoting literacy and the enjoyment of books. The first Festival ran over a week in May and it was so popular that it was run again in 2008 on a larger scale and with even greater success.
Our Festival is a true community event. In 2008 we involved every school, playgroup and tots group in the village and local community groups like the Gardening Club, Photography Club and History Society plus the Guides and Scouts. We attracted people from Linton and surrounding rural villages, and we estimate we reached more than 1,000 people in total.
The Linton Children’s Book Festival is a registered charity no. 1131016.
